This was a great idea that came from one of our tenants here last night at the "Tenant's Voice" party! I was told that something along the lines of a blog/website was tried before, but it was abused in some way, no one updated it, etc. so there were a slew of failed attempts. I'm hoping we can make it work this time, so please use this blog appropriately, use it frequently. And, please, any and all suggestions are helpful.
Andrew here in our office set up this handy blog in no time, so we will constantly be looking to improve on our set up. For the meantime, let's start the communication!
I will be attaching some guidelines and usages of this blog. We do intend to make good use of this venue rather than turn it into a "rant and rave" or a "best of" although I do like those forums. We have plans to make a full blown intranet down the road, but let's start small like the spirit of the incubator and see how we grow!
Please stay tuned for more info, and ENJOY!!

hey MB, is this working yet?
ReplyDeleteYes! We are up and running!
ReplyDeleteIts a shame to see the recycling bins gone due to a mishap. Any game plan to bring it back in the near future?

Okay, I pose a question out there to my fellow tenants: With the bid for the 2016 Olympics just around the corner (Oct of this year) does anybody have a suggestion to fully optimize the business potential if Chicago is the chosen site? I know its hard for us start up folks, but is there anything we can do as a community to promote one one another in the event that Chicago is the city to host the 2016 Olympics? Or should we just take a back seat to those that will profit most? I'm gearing up; what are you doing?

Hello??? Is this thing on??? Marybeth here. I tried to reply a few times under at least one of my sign ins, but there are some glitches I need to work out!
ReplyDeleteRecycling will be back. I just need to figure out a fool proof way to ensure that the recycling bins will not be a fire hazard. This is going to take lots of planning, pricing, and probably building. One of my first steps was to attend a multi-unit residential recycling workshop to gain some insight on what is typically done. It wasn't much help for our commercial buildings with over 110 small businesses, but nonetheless it was useful info! Please check out www.chicagorecycles.org for tips on how to recycle in your own buildings. My building does not currently recycle--so at my next association meeting will have a bunch of ideas and suggestions for us to get that going.
I'm in with Marky Mark regarding how we small businesses might work toward benefiting from the Olympic bid here. What do you do, Mark, or have in mind? ICNC knows of one idea I put out there.
ReplyDeleteHello Fellow Tenants!
ReplyDeleteFeel mistreated by the offices of the ICNC?
Promises made but not kept?
Tired of the ICNC deciding what is best for you?
Spirit of the Incubator? I think not as the majority of you that I have spoken to in person are quite disappointed with the personal of the ICNC offices.
In all fairness, there are a few (very few,) tenants that have positive feedback with the offices.
I want to hear your story, positive or negative, as I intend to use this data to better the tenants here. Although I have plenty of data from the majority of tenants, I am reaching out to those I may not have had contact with.
Some tenants are concerned about retribution from the office if they speak publicly so you may email me directly at mkastigar@gmail.com.
Lets band together and get the help & support we deserve as tenants here.
Thanks,
